HB 301 (BR 1213) - J. Draud

     AN ACT relating to instructional leadership.
     Amend KRS 156.101 to require an instructional leader to complete an intensive training program of twenty-one hours annually; require local school district superintendent to report annually the name of any instructional leader who fails to comply with the training requirement and to place the instructional leader on probation for one year; require the Department of Education to verify training completion; require the Department of Education to forward names of persons who fail to complete training requirements during probationary period to the Education Professional Standards Board for certificate revocation.

HB 301 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS - Retain original provisions, allow 3 to 6 hours of training credit for duties performed as part of a beginning teacher internship committee.

     SFA (1/Title, J. Denton) - Make title amendment.

     SFA (2, J. Denton) - Attach provisions of SB 189/GA; clarify that a school district and its employees have immunity from any injury sustained by a student from any reaction to any hypoglycemic or seizure medications or its administration, and that a parent shall hold harmless the school and its employees against any claims made for any reaction to any medications or the administration thereof to treat a hypoglycemic episode or seizure; add that Glucagon may be administered at school for hypoglycemia or other conditions noted in the health care practitioner's written statement.
