Background: The Special Advisory Commission of Senior Citizens was established by the
Legislative Research Commission in 1977 to provide a forum through which the knowledge and
experiences of senior citizens may be utilized in dealing with problems affecting senior
citizens, and all Kentuckians.
The commission is governed by an Executive Committee, and drafts
specific recommendations for the Kentucky General Assembly's consideration.
